Item Details

  • Böhler Welding Group UTP® 6824 Stainless Steel Stick Electrode measuring 3/32" X 12" easily forms a chromium-oxide layer and acts as a constant buffer against further corrosion of the underlying metal. Stainless steel electrode is an iron-base alloy with a minimum of 11% chromium content that is uniformly dispersed throughout the metal. Electrode is associated with E309-16 AWS classification. It comes in a 10 lb box.

Features

  • The outstanding characteristic of stainless steels is their ability to readily form a chromium-oxide layer which acts as a constant buffer against further corrosion of the underlying metal
  • It is an electrode with high alloy coating stabilized at Niobium, mixed type, able to make cladding from low alloy stainless carbon steels
  • It is also used in welding of similar composition steels, thermic treatable and low alloy steels
  • Due to the austenitic-ferritic deposit’s nature, it presents resistance to corrosion at temperatures up to 400 deg C
  • The deposit is ductile, from austenic-ferritic nature and resistant to fissuring
