Böhler Welding Group UTP® 6824 Stainless Steel Stick Electrode measuring 3/32" X 12" easily forms a chromium-oxide layer and acts as a constant buffer against further corrosion of the underlying metal. Stainless steel electrode is an iron-base alloy with a minimum of 11% chromium content that is uniformly dispersed throughout the metal. Electrode is associated with E309-16 AWS classification. It comes in a 10 lb box.
Features
The outstanding characteristic of stainless steels is their ability to readily form a chromium-oxide layer which acts as a constant buffer against further corrosion of the underlying metal
It is an electrode with high alloy coating stabilized at Niobium, mixed type, able to make cladding from low alloy stainless carbon steels
It is also used in welding of similar composition steels, thermic treatable and low alloy steels
Due to the austenitic-ferritic deposit’s nature, it presents resistance to corrosion at temperatures up to 400 deg C
The deposit is ductile, from austenic-ferritic nature and resistant to fissuring
