RADNOR™ E309L-16 is an over-alloyed electrode intended for welding stainless steel unalloyed or low-alloy steels. The electrode has a composition that, under normal welding conditions, ensures a crack resistant weld metal. RADNOR™ E309L-16 can also be used for welding some high temperature steels. Always consult with an expert before welding.
Features
Superior to 308L. When surfacing mild steel a corrosion resistance equivalent to that of ASTM 304 is obtained in the first weld layer.
Caution
Electrodes should be kept as dry as possible when they are being used. Electrodes slightly affected by moisture may be rebaked for approximately 3 hours at 475° F – 525° F. Heating and cooling should be carried out slowly. Electrodes may be rebaked up to 3 times with no danger of damaging the coating.
